Digene Farrar

Digene Farrar lives in Seattle where she works in nursing, modeling, acting, advocacy, and motivational speaking. Her credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s in Business Administration, and certification as a Training Specialist.

As a registered nurse, Digene has worked in various departments, including cardiovascular intensive care, eating disorders, and community health. Digene presents lectures to medical colleagues; she also engages general audiences on topics such as health maintenance, sex abuse prevention, survivor advocacy, and transformation from trauma.

Digene has mentored young women through the Big Sisters and Girls First (YWCA). She also volunteers for Oregon Abuse Advocates and Survivors in Service (OAASIS), and Stolen Youth.

Digene has appeared on stage, in the OAASIS production of “Telling: Adult Survivors of Child Sex Abuse Step into the Light.”  In addition, she is the author of an award-winning memoir “Not My Secret to Keep.”
